Craig is the Managing Partner of Moorland Gray and has held responsibility for the strategy and operational execution of the business since its inception. Prior to relocating to the UAE in 2006, Craig worked in consulting and management roles for a FTSE 250 PLC in London. In addition to his organization-wide leadership responsibilities at Moorland Gray, Craig oversees a number of the firm's key client relationships and plays an active role in Board and C-level searches, particularly across Banking, Insurance and Real Estate related sectors. Over the last few years, Craig has been responsible for guiding the Moorland Gray business through two successful acquisitions to private equity-led institutions. This led to Moorland Gray becoming an Accel-KKR portfolio company in 2013; as a result, Craig also sits on the Operating Board of Cielo as an Executive Vice President and as Middle East and Africa Managing Director. Craig attributes the success of the Moorland Gray business to absolute focus on client satisfaction, creativity, flexibility, and results. His team have built an unrivalled track record of successful executive placements in the MEA region which has allowed the business to continue to grow both in terms of scale and reputation.
Chris is a Partner of Moorland Gray, having joined the senior leadership team in 2007. Chris brings 14 years of executive search experience gained across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Having contributed to the development of Moorland Gray as a firm since shortly after its inception, Chris has helped to lead the scaling of the firm five-fold to its current size of more than 50, has seen the business through two successful acquisitions, and has overseen and contributed to the execution of many of the firm’s 1200+ appointments to date. Chris currently leads the expansion of Moorland Gray’s commercial-oriented segments (from Tourism, Hospitality and Leisure to Energy and Natural Resources, and everything in between) across the Middle East, Africa and Asia, actively leading industry-dedicated teams on the delivery of senior mandates for both regional and multi-national companies. He is highly regarded as a thought leader in the Nationalization space, and regularly partners with government, semi-government, and private-sector entities to help them reach their goals. Prior to Moorland Gray, Chris held both consulting and management roles within a number of tier one executive search firms in London, where he built one of most respected Technology practices and delivered a number of C-suite mandates for global multinationals across eHealthcare, Commercial, Financial Services and Banking verticals. Chris has had an allegiance to the UAE since 1994 and has witnessed the acceleration of growth in the region.
Daniel is a Partner at Moorland Gray. Daniel and his team are responsible for Board-level, C–suite, leadership, and advisory appointments within financial institutions, professional services organizations, and education entities across emerging markets. Daniel joined Moorland Gray in 2011, initially co-leading the Financial Services Practice for the Middle East. Daniel is now a member of the global leadership team and an operating board member, and continues to play a key role in partnering with clients to spearhead and support the growth of financial services firms in the Middle East, Africa and Asia. Daniel has completed a broad range of search assignments for Chairmen, Board Members, Chief Executive Officers, Chief Human Resources Officers, and supporting Senior Advisors and Consultants who have required niche and specialist leadership appointments in the Middle East, Europe and Asia. In addition to working with clients across private equity (direct investments and portfolio companies), investment banking and sovereign wealth funds, Daniel has worked with regulators, exchanges and family offices in the appraisal of leadership teams, non-executive board formation and leadership globalization. Prior to joining Moorland Gray, Daniel worked with a U.S.-listed search and selection business. Daniel studied sports science and is a UEFA B qualified football coach. Daniel has led a number of community-based football inclusion projects sponsored by local government and professional clubs.
Allison Helferty is the Director of Shared Services for Moorland Gray. She joined the business in 2011 and has been in the UAE since 2008. Allison has supported the organization through two acquisitions, guiding the company through periods of change management, business transformation and growth across META. Allison has successfully designed, developed and implemented business processes, and leads the Moorland Gray HR agenda to enhance business performance through engagement and people development. Allison brings a wealth of experience from the Offshore Financial Services industry, having held various Operational and Compliance roles with organizations such as Zurich Insurance.
Daniel is a professional global head-hunter and search practice manager with experience across multiple sectors and disciplines. Having operated in the industry for more than 10 years, he has conducted high-level international search work for multinational and regional corporations, as well as government sector institutions. Over the past five years, Daniel has successfully executed challenging search mandates in 12 countries including Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, U.S., Russia and multiple European locations. He has spent time on the ground in each region building an understanding and appreciation of cultures, customs and best practice. Motivated by the regional opportunities and growth in the healthcare sector, Daniel relocated to the GCC in 2013. As a Practice Head at Moorland Gray, Daniel leads the Healthcare Provider business in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, working with a select number of the major public and private healthcare systems, regulatory bodies and service providers. Daniel implements a tailor-made consultative approach to the search process, using the knowledge gained from his 10+ year track record to act as advisor and mentor to the multiple stakeholders throughout each search engagement. This, along with Moorland Gray’s strategic, process-driven methodology, creates a robust mechanism for solution creation and project completion.
Zak Marar joined Moorland Gray with a mandate to lead and further develop the Infrastructure and Operations Practice for the business. Since 2005, Zak has successfully partnered with clients across Financial Services and the wider Commerce sectors. He works with leading local and international client organizations, ranging from small start-up businesses to global FTSE100 and Fortune500 corporations across EMEA, North America and Asia Pacific. Zak’s expertise encompasses recruitment strategy and oversight for senior leadership hires including Chief Financial Officers, Strategy & Corporate Development, Group Treasurers, Chief Risk Officers, Chief Auditors and Chief Compliance Officers. Zak regularly consults for his clients about best practice for the current and future state of their infrastructure units, conducts leadership assessment projects and advises on talent acquisition and retention programs. Having led the successful completion of numerous large, complex international and cross-border search projects, Zak intimately understands the complexities and demands of such transactions and is therefore uniquely placed to assist with future mandates of this nature. Previous to his career in executive search, Zak started and ran businesses in Real Estate and Development in the UK and the Middle East.
With more than 12 years of Executive Search experience, Samir has a strong background of securing and successfully executing high-profile C-suite and Board appointments. Samir serves as Moorland Gray’s Practice Head for the firm’s Healthcare vertical in the UAE. He is a specialist in cross-border Executive Search with extensive experience relocating senior talent from the U.S., Europe, and Australasian markets into the United Arab Emirates. Samir has an exceptional track record of placing senior leaders in a range of healthcare environments, from ministries and government regulators to private and public healthcare systems, medical equipment distributors and professional services and advisory organizations. Samir’s detailed knowledge of the dynamics of the UAE market, and the requirements for senior leaders operating within it, allows him to provide expert advice to clients at the highest levels. With the UAE government encouraging more private participation in the healthcare sector, Samir has advised healthcare investors and operators on talent attraction strategies specific to the UAE. He continues to relocate key healthcare government policy advisors that drive the programs and incentives to encourage private sector growth, optimize current operations, and leverage technology to raise the quality of healthcare services across the Emirates.
Ioana is responsible for Moorland Gray’s Pharmaceutical & Life Sciences Practice across the Middle East, Africa and Turkey, and has been with the business since March 2011. She has more than 14 years of Executive Search experience and has, with her team, successfully executed high-level searches for some of the most prestigious global and regional organizations. Ioana has lived in the UAE since 2008.
Fidha is an Associate with Moorland Gray. Prior to Fidha’s appointment with Moorland Gray, she worked as an Associate in the Middle East office of another global executive search firm. Since 2006, she has successfully delivered senior-level mandates to clients in various sectors, predominantly in the Healthcare field with an emphasis on Pharma & Medical Devices. Fidha has excellent research skills and the capability to deliver on highly challenging searches. She takes responsibility for identifying potential organizations and utilizing her networks to proactively pinpoint, engage, interview, qualify and close suitable candidates for a variety of senior assignments. Fidha furthermore tracks and disseminates information and trends to support search, and has developed extensive industry expertise. Having grown up in the UAE, she has an in-depth understanding of Middle Eastern businesses. Fidha holds a Master’s in Business Management (Marketing) and a Bachelor’s Degree (Honors) in Computer Science.
Lynda joined Moorland Gray in 2013 as an Associate, and leverages 10+ years of industry experience. She is primarily responsible for supporting and strategically delivering as part of high-profile initiatives for clients with business-critical and often time-sensitive mandates. Lynda additionally has helped to architect one of the most respected and highly sought-after talent pools of future leaders as part of Moorland Gray’s Emiratization team. She began her career in Research & Development and Design Assurance, working for a worldwide medical device manufacturer. She then served as a Consultant in Ireland with a leading global recruitment firm, specializing in Engineering and Life Sciences within the Technical division. In 2012, Lynda relocated to the Middle East to focus on Executive Search. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree (with First-class Honors) in Marine Science from the National University of Ireland, Galway.
Hazel joined Moorland Gray in 2014 as an Associate for the Banking and Financial Services Practice, supporting the Principals and Partners in the execution of C-level and senior leadership search engagements. Hazel has successfully completed searches from SVP to C-level within investment banking, financial markets and private equity. Previously, she worked as a Senior Consultant for a DIFC-based boutique for more than seven years, leading research and delivery with a key focus on senior level Private Banking and Wealth Management hires across Europe as well as the GCC and broader MENA region. Hazel has been a resident of the UAE for more than 27 years. She completed her A-Levels in Dubai and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Mass Communications from St. Theresa's College, Philippines.
Denise is an Associate within Moorland Gray, having joined in 2014. She has been a resident of the UAE for more than 28 years. Since joining the Moorland Gray team, Denise has successfully assisted on a range of C-suite and Director-level executive assignments across the Middle East and emerging markets, particularly in the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Malaysia and China. Prior to joining Moorland Gray, Denise worked with a local recruitment firm in Dubai for more than six years, where she worked as a Recruitment Manager, identifying, headhunting, and mobilizing senior management for companies of varying size and scale. Denise has led a number of Moorland Gray’s more complex and sensitive engagements in Asia, leveraging the network she has acquired as a trusted confidante to C-level candidates considering their next career choice.
